Stepping Stones Shop and Community Café

Wednesday 9.30 – 11.00 am (term time) in the Community Hall

A warm welcome awaits you at the Stepping Stones Shop and Community Café. The shop, which began in 1995, has an excellent reputation for selling a variety of new and used goods. We accept donations of good quality items including clothing, toys, books and bric-a-brac which can be brought along on a Wednesday morning (between 9 & 11am). There is also a thriving café area where refreshments are served. This has become a community where around 60 visitors a week of all age groups find friendship and where faith is shared. Whilst meeting the needs of customers, both practically and pastorally has always been more important than raising money, profits go to support the work of Christian mission worldwide, including supporting two children’s homes: the Komamboga Children’s Home in Uganda (through Christian Partners in Africa) and My Father’s House in Brazil (through Service of Hope). There are also special fund-raising mornings which support world-wide natural disasters and Macmillan. Recently, the shop has extended its ministry into serving a light lunch once a month called ‘Simple Servings’ which is very popular and enables people in the community to have lunch with others.
