Swallow’s Nest Preschool

The Preschool, first established in 1993, is well respected and popular within the local

community. It opens in the Community Hall on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays

from 8.30 to 4pm daily
during term time. We operate on a non-profit basis, offering places for children from 2 years
to school age. We offer free places for 30 hours to children of qualifying working parents
and free places for 15 hours to all children 3 years old or above, starting the term after their
third birthday.

30 hour sessions are 8:30 – 16:00 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
15 hour sessions are 9:30 -13:30 Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, and 9:30 -12.30 on
Fridays.
Parents may purchase extra full sessions, at a standard rate of £5.75 per hour (2025-6)
regardless of age (price subject to annual review). Part sessions are not available.
Sessions can be purchased for 8:30-9:30; 9:30-13:30 and 13:30-16:00 on our operating
days

We offer a structured learning environment, a high ratio of staff to children, 2 large indoor
areas plus an outdoor garden as well friendly and experienced staff.
The Ofsted inspection in November 2023 deemed it to be “Good” across all sections. We
aim to build strong relationships with parents, and aim to support whole families, not just the
children in our care. We foster links with the church through the church calendar when
families are welcomed to join in with seasonal activities over Easter and Christmas.
Swallows Nest operates under the umbrella of the PCC who delegate supervisory
responsibility to the Swallows Nest Committee.
