Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith, in a way which has been helpful for many. Every Alpha course is different - even here at St George’s! - but has some components that are at the core of each. These components are food, a presentation and time to discuss.
Food – is a great way to begin to get to know people in a group. It may take the format of a meal, or light refreshments but whichever form it takes it’s a great way to create community.
Presentation – this may take the form of a video or talk lasting about 30 minutes, providing opportunities to explore the Christian faith, looking at questions like Who is Jesus?; Why & how do I pray?
Discussion – a key part of Alpha is the opportunity to share thoughts and discuss in a small group at your pace. There’s an opportunity to hear from others, to ask questions and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.
If you would like to take part in (or have questions about) the next course, which starts on Thursday 17th January 2019, at 7pm, at St George’s Church Community Hall, Eastbrook Road, Lincoln LN6 7EP, please contact Dave Albans tel. 0780 449 6177 email: firstname.lastname@example.org or more info can be found at alpha.org.uk/tryalpha/.
